our story:
WHY WE BUILT AN LGBTQ-OWNED BUSINESS & DESIGN STUDIO

Lucasano Creative is an LGBTQ-owned business redefining design with custom invitations for weddings and events. Learn how we celebrate all forms of celebration.

Building an LGBTQ-owned business came from my own journey to make the wedding industry feel truly inclusive and welcoming for queer people. When I planned my wedding in 2015, I was excited to dive into the details—until I realized how often terms like “bridal” and “bride and groom” were everywhere. From planning guides to vendor forms, it felt like there was one template—and we weren’t on it.

Weddings should feel magical—yet I found myself navigating processes that offered little space for LGBTQ+ couples. Even the well-intentioned 'all are welcome here' messages often fell short, revealing aspects of an industry not fully designed for us. To feel truly celebrated—not just accommodated—it takes more than a welcoming statement. It means rethinking every detail to create a safe space where LGBTQ+ couples don’t have to adapt.

Turning “What If” Into “Why Not” for LGBTQ+ Weddings

that’s why I founded
LUCASANO CREATIVE, not just
TO CRAFT BEAUTIFUL STATIONERY
but to CREATE BELONGING

Our mission is to honor all identities and stories, ensuring that every step of our process is crafted to make you feel seen, respected, and celebrated. We embrace the full spectrum of love and individuality.

Supporting Other
LGBTQ-Owned Businesses

Part of our commitment is working with other queer vendors and allies who share our values. Whether it’s partnering with LGBTQ+ artists or even our neighborhood UPS store—a proudly queer-owned franchise—we believe in supporting other LGBTQ- businesses and building a network that empowers our community.

Hi, I’m Luke! Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. Starting Lucasano feels like the perfect blend of everything I love, and honestly, it’s been a journey years in the making—one inspired in part by my grandmother. I’ve always been fascinated by the magic of paper and how something so simple can hold emotions, memories, and stories in a way that feels deeply personal and organic.

I was always the kid growing up with paint-streaked hands, a camera nearby, and a knack for turning anything into an art project—even when it wasn’t meant to be—thanks to my mom’s creative influence. I earned a BFA in Film/Animation/Video from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and spent years telling my own stories through film, with my work featured at festivals across the country. Eventually, I dove headfirst into a nearly two-decade career as a TV production executive, while keeping one foot in the design world—branding LGBTQ+ nonprofits, creating logos and graphics, and championing causes close to my heart.

I’ve now combined my artistic roots, passion for storytelling, and (let’s be honest) my borderline obsession with organization into crafting stationery that celebrates individuality. Handcrafted in Washington, DC, Lucasano is here to create something as vibrant, unique, and authentic as you. Explore our work to see how we bring every story to life.

Let’s get started!

My 7-year-old, Schroeder, could win gold in the side-eye Olympics, but he’s still impossibly cute while doing it!
